“For I know the
plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future.”
(Jer. 29:11)
This promise is an encouragement in times of uncertainty such as
this one is for us. It seems that God has closed the door to
further ministry with Act Beyond (formerly Mission to Unreached
Peoples) at this time. Act Beyond had graciously given us a
year’s leave of absence for TK to work on the personal issues
that came up early last year. As we are not yet ready to be
re-deployed overseas we will not be able to continue with the
organization.
Our heart for ministry, particularly among the unreached is
undiminished. We will continue to send the Kuy Prayer Update and
hope to stay in touch with those working with the Kuy. Our
desire is to eventually return to missions among the unreached
in South East Asia. We do not have a definite timetable for
this. At the very least it will be another year and a half as we
have promised Nate that we will stay here long enough for him to
graduate from High School.
We cannot share specifics as to what we will be doing during
this interim time as it is not at all clear to us. We are
convinced that the Lord has good things in store and will
provide for our needs.
This is, we hope, not “good-bye.” We hope to stay in touch with
you and let you know how the Lord leads. We covet your prayers
for this time of change.
Praise for:
• 12 good years of ministry with Act Beyond
• 30+ years of ministry, mostly overseas, with YOU, our
faithful ministry partners
• God’s gracious provision of this place of transition for
our time of recovery/healing
Pray for:
• Clear direction for our future, especially as it regards
returning to work with unreached peoples
• Employment
• Continued progress in healing and restoration for TK
