Workers for the Kuy of Thailand
Recent
research on the church in Thailand shows that over half of the
Christians are in the North of the country and most of those northern
believers are from non-Thai ethnic groups. One of the most Christian of
these groups is the Karen, about 30% Christian. Perhaps the time is
right to begin to see workers raised up from these more Christianized
groups to go to unreached groups within (and outside) Thailand.
Karen
and other minority believers in Thailand might be the right people to
bring the gospel more deliberately to the Kuy of Thailand. We are
hoping to connect soon with people who may be in a position to open
doors to the Karen church.
Recently, TK made a trip to Thailand
to begin to look for this kind of resources. He had a fruitful meeting
with a Thai believer who is working to start a Thai mission sending
agency! He also met with organizers of the Thai Kairos course
(http://www.kairoscourse.org/countries/2-uncategorised/75-thailand).
Alumni from this group meet monthly to pray for unreached peoples.
- Praise God for these seeds of "sending" happening in the Thai church.
- Pray for connections in the Thai church, particularly, ethnic minority churches that will lead to workers for the Kuy people.
